The Instruments Engineering Committee was responsible for standardisation and research in the field of automation and instrumentation.
This committee is dormant at present and thus SSG Electrical Engineering Committee is responsible for SSG's instrument standards.
SSG’s Instrument Engineering Committee came into being in 1971 and worked with standardisation and research in the field of automation and instrumentation. This committee aimed to monitor technical developments in the field of instrumentation and automation and to develop in line with the technology. The committee also monitored the need for new services and developed these on the basis of SSG standards where necessary.
The committee’s aim was for SSG standards and services to be established as de facto standards in the European process industry, as well as being the actual choice of consultants, designers and suppliers in their attempts to run cost-effective, quality-assured construction, renovation and extension projects in Swedish industry.
