Väderstad secures the contractor’s route even before work starts

30 March 2026

Safety always comes first. With many contractors on the move every week, there are high requirements for structure, control and clear communication - even before work starts.

For Väderstad, the solution has become an integrated process where training, booking and access are connected from the start.

– Safety is our top priority. This was part of really raising the bar," says Jennie Svahn, Hospitality Services Manager.

From manual routines to automated control

In the past, contractors received safety information in paper form. Printed booklets were distributed, but the content quickly became outdated in a business where changes take place on an ongoing basis. The information was distributed via several channels and there was no systematic way to ensure that everyone shared the same, updated requirements.

By connecting the visitor system to SSG’s training database via an API solution, an automated flow was created. When a contractor is booked, valid basic courses and local training courses are checked directly in the system. If the requirements are not met, the process is stopped - if they are met, access is activated, connected to the individual’s SSG card.

– With the help of SSG, we ensure that they have completed the training courses before they arrive here. All contractors receive the same information," says Jennie.

The right competence before leaving the company

The work on the access and passage system has been led by Kent Karlsson and Linus Andersson, Shared Services Engineers, among others.

The greatest benefit is the peace of mind that the right competence is verified before work starts.

Access is time-controlled and connected to the assignment. When the job is completed, the permission disappears automatically - a clear improvement compared to previous manual loan card handling.

Direct communication in the field

In parallel, SSG On site is also used for ongoing safety communication. Via the app, the company can send push notifications in the event of changes, conversions or risk observations and ensure that the information reaches contractors directly, even when they are already out in the business.

"Previously, we only reached our own staff. Now we can communicate directly with the contractors where they are and be safe that the information actually reaches them."

A coherent safety chain

Today, safety is not dependent on paper routines or manual controls. It is built into the process: training is a prerequisite for access, access is connected to the assignment and communication is directed at those concerned.

– It’s good for us as a company. We feel more serious. It’s neat and tidy," says Jennie.

The result is a coherent safety chain where the right competence, permissions and information are linked - even before work starts.
