“We are becoming more efficient and safer with SSG Entre and SSG On site”
17 October 2025
Ranheim Paper & Board has taken major steps towards increased efficiency and safety by implementing SSG Entre and SSG On site. With these tools, they have not only simplified their processes, but also ensured that everyone on site has the right training and information.
– It’s about efficiency and that we don’t have to organise and conduct all the training courses. All we need to do is refer everyone to SSG Entre. If they need help, they can turn to SSG Support. This makes things easier for us because we don’t have to follow up on whether they have the right skills in place – they do it themselves. Another advantage is that we can control who is in the area and ensure that they have the right training, as they will be denied access if they do not. SSG Entre has contributed to our increased safety, and many external parties appreciate that we use it,” says Andreas Volden, Project Engineer at Ranheim Paper & Board.
The desire to make the site even more sustainable, safe and efficient permeates both Andreas and his colleagues at the site. Major maintenance work is currently ongoing, including upgrading two of Ranheim’s paper machines, which has led to many external contractors working at the site.
– Many of our contractors have previously used SSG Entre and SSG On site. Thanks to SSG On site, we can ensure that contractors and visitors receive important information and can easily read the latest news without having to book a meeting. This makes everyday life easier for us, our contractors and, above all, for those who are new to the workplace. SSG On site is a well-proven system and it has been easy to get started.
About Ranheim Paper & Board
Every year, Ranheim Paper & Board transforms 130,000 tonnes of used corrugated cardboard boxes into new, high-quality paper and cardboard products. This volume corresponds to approximately 50% of the corrugated cardboard collected in Norway each year.
In 2024, the site is undergoing a lot of changes. The upgrade to PM5 will eliminate some bottlenecks in the mill, while upgrades to their other paper machine, PM6, are planned for the coming years. This, in turn, will enable Ranheim to increase its production of special grades such as Recycled Saturating Kraft Paper for decorative high-pressure laminates. This will result in an increased capacity of 10,000 tonnes of paper in 2025 and an additional 20,000 tonnes in the next two years.
