Safety in focus: Epiroc Rock Drills AB’s journey with SSG On site

Today, they have seven sites connected to the app and can easily manage their routines and disseminate important news with employees and contractors on site.

Communication challenges

Moa Franzson, SHE Engineer, talks about the challenges they faced and how SSG On site has been an important tool for improving safety work.

– There may be several stakeholders at any one site that we want to reach, and this is a major communication challenge. Before we started using SSG On site almost two years ago, we often used paper posters or emails to communicate our safety information.

– This was the situation we faced and it was also difficult to know how many had got the information. I hold discussions with many of our contractors and it is important to be able to provide up-to-date information before they start work at the site.

Important safety information can be disseminated without delay

– To continue modernising and gathering all safety information in one place for all sites, we started using SSG On site. It was a natural next step, after using SSG Entre for a number of years, to ensure an even safer work environment at our sites,” Moa continues.

The best thing about the app according to Lars

• News – we used this, for example, when we wanted to announce that we had started using self-driving trucks.
• The routines tab – here, contractors can easily access the routines we have in place at our sites.
• Guide to site check-in – a digital guide for both Swedish speaking and foreign contractors who are coming to the site.

Better dialogue with contractors

We have many contractors working for us during the year, and it is easy for us to be able to refer them to SSG On site.

– We are noticing that more and more people are using the app and seeing its great value – which makes everyday working life safer,” concludes Lars.
