Freudenberg’s success story: 400+ electronic work permits, and more on the way

As part of the pilot test group and with an active role in the development of the feature, Freudenberg has shown its commitment to continuously improving the work environment and maintenance in Swedish industry. By adopting a digitalised approach to the permitting process, the company has not only modernised its processes, but also increased efficiency and sustainability for the environment.

More than 400 work permits: fully electronic

Lars Ljungström, HSE Manager at Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions, shares his thoughts on how Workflow from SSG and On site has improved operations.

– For us, SSG’s Workflow feature has worked excellently and we see several advantages in the fact that it’s integrated in On site. Today, we have issued over 400 work permits and we are able to do it in a safer way while reducing our environmental impact by using less paper.

Taking the step into digitizing the permit process was not a challenge for Freudenberg, thanks in large part to their internal project team that was set up with the help of SSG for the implementation of Workflow. By investing time in understanding the tool and conducting workshops and onboarding processes, they have enabled a smooth transition to working digitally.

– As HSE manager, it is important to support our employees and contractors, and Workflow from SSG has been a valuable resource to facilitate this. We look forward to exploring and implementing more of the features in the SSG On site app to further improve our safety information.

– Of course! Today, Workflow is an important piece of the puzzle, and we are keen to constantly develop our work on health and safety here at Freudenberg.
