SSG Confined Space
Working in a confined space is common in many parts of industry and involves specific risks. Oxygen deficiency, hazardous gases, risk of fire, explosion or entrapment mean that even seemingly simple work tasks can become life-threatening if they are not planned and carried out correctly. Therefore, it is important that everyone involved in working in confined spaces understands the risks and requirements.
In SSG Confined Space, you will learn what characterises a confined space, the risks associated with confined spaces and how to prevent them with the right preparations, protective measures and working methods. The course covers the various roles and responsibilities in this area and how to act if conditions change or an accident occurs.
The course is a complementary advanced course to SSG’s basic courses in occupational health and safety and has been developed by SSG in collaboration with representatives from industry.
