Join a committee or working group

Would you like to influence SSG’s standards and expand your network at the same time? Join one of our committees or working groups!

Participate in a working group

This working group is responsible for drawing up a standard based on the project specification developed by one of SSG’s committees. As a working group participant, you contribute your knowledge and experience in a particular area. This gives you great opportunities to influence the content of a standard. In addition, you get to meet other people who share your interest and may also be valuable contacts in the future.

In 2025, we are searching for participants in the following working groups:

  • Industrial gearboxes
The working group for industrial gearboxes focuses primarily on harmonising service factor calculations. The work is carried out in two stages, where participants from industrial sites first agree on a model for service factor calculations. In the next stage, existing gear standards are revised together with participants from suppliers of industrial gearboxes. Work is to begin as soon as possible.
  • Requirements for screw pumps
In this working group, you will develop a completely new set of requirements for screw pumps. The work consists of exploring different solutions and then developing a new standard for use in industry. Work is to begin as soon as possible.

Join a committee

SSG’s committees consist of people with different backgrounds and professional roles. Together, they have extensive knowledge of a specific area and an excellent understanding of the needs that exist there. The committee monitors developments, shares experiences, and decides which standards should be developed or updated by the working groups. Committee members can also participate in working groups if they wish. The committee then approves the standard once the working group has completed the work and the standard is ready for use.
