This document provides instructions on the additional requirements to be imposed on materials and component manufacturers in the manufacture of pipes and fittings with weld factor z = 0.7 delivered according to a non-harmonised pressure vessel standard to meet the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive, PED 2014/68/EU.

This document applies to when ordering of pipes and fittings manufactured to standards other than
– SS-EN 10253-2:2007 – Butt-welding pipe fittings – Part 2: Non alloy and ferritic alloy steels with specific inspection requirements
– SS-EN 10253-4:2008/AC:2009 – Butt-welding pipe fittings – Part 4: Wrought austenitic and austenitic-ferritic (duplex) stainless steels with specific inspection requirements
– SS-EN 10217-2:2019 – Welded steel tubes for pressure purposes - Technical delivery conditions – Part 2: Electric welded non-alloy and alloy steel tubes with specified elevated temperature properties
or
– SS-EN 10217-7:2014 – Welded steel tubes for pressure purposes – Technical delivery conditions – Part 7: Stainless steel tubes.

Pipes and fittings meeting the requirements of this document may be used as pressure equipment in tube systems belonging to Section 8 and categoriesI to III of [AFS 2016:1].
