This standard covers general requirements for fibreglass reinforced pipes and pipe fittings for exposed process pipes, intended for the transport of chemically aggressive substances.
The standard does not deal with underground pipes and pipe fittings. Nor does the standard apply at operating temperatures lower than -40°C and higher than +120°C.
This standard sets out the minimum requirements for the design, manufacture, testing, inspection, marking and delivery of pipes and pipe fittings in reinforced plastic, which contain liquid or liquefied gases that meet the requirements of the EU Directive PED 2014/68/EU. The standard also provides references to national regulations concerning such pipes and pipe fittings.
The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) was adopted by the European Parliament in May 2014. The Swedish Work Environment Authority implemented the EU-directive in Sweden on July 19, 2016 in accordance with the regulation [AFS 2016:1].
