This standard provides recommendations concerning sliding shoes for insulated pipelines, used for sliding support made in accordance with SSG 7005E – Types 21B and 22B.
Type 21 and type 22 are used instead of type 11 and type 12 where the axial force is negligible. Type 21 and type 22 are not used as a fixing point on vertical surfaces, or as supports closest to a bend. Type 21 and type 22 shall not be subjected to forces due to thermal expansion.
In uninsulated or protective insulated pipelines, sliding shoes according to SSG 7149E or SSG 7150E is used. When choosing sliding shoe, refer also to SSG 7005E, section 2.3.
