This standard provides general recommendations for pipe anchorage sections. The standard is intended to be used for pipelines of dimensions in the area DN 10–1200. The standard does not cover plastic pipelines. In these cases, refer to the Plastic Pipeline Standard, PRN 2018.

This standard for pipe anchorages and supports is verified and approved against the requirements of SS-EN 13480-3 of notified body (AO) 0409, Kiwa Inspecta Sweden AB, with certificate number 19-1000807-107. SS-EN 13480 is a standard that meets the requirements of the EU Directive PED 2014/68/EU.

The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) was adopted by the European Parliament in May 2014. The Swedish Work Environment Authority implemented the EU Directive in Sweden on 19 July 2016 with the regulation AFS 2016:1.
