This standard provides advice and guidelines on the operation and maintenance of directcurrent systems used to supply power to control, indication and relay protection systems. The standard is a complement to SSG 4111E - Design guidelines.
d.c. systems based on chemical batteries are installed to provide an uninterrupted supply of power to the most important items of equipment in a plant. For this reason, the system is expected to offer high operational reliability and availability while providing the rated energy capacity.
