This standard is intended for use as a comprehensive requirements definition for various types of gears for industrial use.
Its purpose is to clarify delivery boundaries and facilitate discussions between Purchasers and Suppliers, and to specify requirements for function and
provide good support for procurement. The standard deals with requirements for gears operating constantly at processing plants. The standard does not take into account differences between industrial gears or standard gears, but
specifies minimum requirements applicable to all types of gears.
The requirements in this standard must apply prior to project commencement, during procurement and after delivery and commissioning.
