A risk assessment must always be carried out before changes are made to operations in accordance with the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s regulations on systematic work environment management (AFS 2023:1). This concerns changes that are not part of daily operations, such as personnel changes, changes in working methods, rebuilding/new construction, and so on. The regulation contains rules on how the employer must regularly examine the working conditions and assess the risks that may occur in the organisation. It also contains rules on measures that must be taken to prevent the risks.

This standard is based on SSG 2118 Risk management template with content to facilitate and provide support for risk assessment relating to changes in the organisation that may affect the organisational, social and physical working environment. For further support in risk management work, the SSG 2100 Risk management model can be used - an industry-wide model for practical risk management relating to health and safety risks.
