Industrial use places high demands on durability and therefore it is important to have paint systems that are able to protect surfaces despite demanding environments.

SSG has in this standard defined a number of paint types and paint systems as well as the various tests that they need to pass in order to be classified as one of SSG’s paint systems. The standard is aimed at paint manufacturers and personnel who carry out tests or review finished results.

The paint systems addressed in the standard are intended for painting carbon steel and hot-dip galvanized steel. The selection of paint systems is based on many years of experience and expertise from the industry through SSG’s surface protection committee and network.

SSG 1006E and SSG 1012E can be used to complement SSG 1100E.

SSG 1006E is a list of makes of paint systems that meet SSG’s requirements.

SSG 1012E describes different industry environments and the paint systems that are suitable to use in the different environments.
