Digital development in industry is advancing rapidly, while the human factor is a constant reality, and falling victim to a cyberattack is becoming increasingly easy. Cyberattacks can occur on systems, networks, mobile devices and through an individual’s use of internal or external equipment.

- Business interruption: lost revenue and production disruptions.
- Loss of data: business-critical information is stolen or destroyed.
- Reputational damage: reputation and credibility among clients, investors and partners are damaged.
- Financial consequences: high costs to restore systems and data and deal with legal consequences.
- Safety hazard: risk to the safety of employees and the general public (e.g., for sites that handle hazardous substances).
- Regulatory consequences: penalties from authorities if applicable security standards and rules for information security are not complied with.
