Os Nossos Comitês

The Building Committee is responsible for standardisation and research work in the field of building technology. The committee was started in 1971 and is responsible for maintaining SSG’s building standards and creating common benefits in building technology.

SSG’s building standards are a good tool for planning new construction and maintenance work, and can thus help ensure that construction projects are completed with the right quality and in a cost-effective manner. A building standard should serve as a repository of knowledge and experience for the future.

Personal safety, maintainability and cost-effectiveness are important criteria in the building industry, which are prioritised in the development and revision of SSG’s building standards. The standards developed are characterised by an alignment with current Swedish legislation and regulations and best practical implementation.

The Operational Safety and Efficiency Committee works with operational safety in maintenance and production, with a focus on accessibility, operational safety, efficiency and sustainability.

The committee was started in 2011 and works to create value through collaboration from an accessibility and cost perspective. Its work also includes the development of operational safety and maintenance through leadership, employees and the work environment. By raising all those involved to a common level in maintenance development, the industry’s overall efficiency is increased. The outcome of the committee’s work is primarily useful in direct application, but also provides opportunities to develop and refine service concepts.

SSG’s Electrical Committee was established in 1971 and works with standardisation in the areas of electrical responsibility, electrical safety and electrical engineering, establishing new and revised standards in the relevant areas.

The committee monitors developments in the electricity sector, keeps track of the need for new services, and further develops existing services based on SSG Standards.

The committee works to ensure that SSG’s standards and services in the electrical field become the first choice in the Swedish process industry and are the obvious choice for consultants, designers and suppliers in both ongoing maintenance and in their efforts to run cost-effective and quality-assured new construction, renovation and extension projects. Through training courses, services and standards, companies and organisations are helped in their work with electrical responsibility and electrical safety for a safer work environment.

The Contract Committee is responsible for developing and updating SSG’s supply contracts for the procurement, delivery, installation and commissioning of industrial plants and equipment.

In their work to develop and update delivery contracts with an international focus, the members are tasked with developing effective and appropriate standard terms and conditions for various types of procurement for industrial sites, for both purchasers and suppliers.

Standardised solutions to common challenges, more efficient procurement and uniform conditions that simplify work for both purchasers and suppliers are some of the benefits that the committee creates. If necessary, working groups are set up to carry out more in-depth investigations in different areas.

SSG’s Piping System Committee was established in 1971 and works on standardisation and investigating new services for piping systems and pressurised equipment.

The work environment, operational safety and maintenance are important criteria of the work. The committee keeps abreast of industry needs in the field of piping systems and pressurised equipment and also works with market intelligence, network building and knowledge exchange. It also works to increase awareness and promote relevant standards and related services.

SSG’s pipe standards meet the requirements of current directives and regulations for pressurised devices, which means that purchasers, suppliers and manufacturers can be confident in their choice of components. SSG’s pipe standards have a certificate of conformity issued by Kiwa Inspecta, with certificate number 20-1013779-100.

The purpose of the Safety Committee is to recommend effective and economical working methods and approaches in the areas of safety and the work environment.

The SSG Safety Committee was established in 2004 with the aim of identifying the industry’s needs in the area of security, and conducting market intelligence, network building and knowledge exchange.

Common working methods, access to a network and consistency in the interpretation and application of rules in the field are some of the benefits for participating companies. There is also the opportunity to influence the way authorities draft legislation so that it is achievable based on the conditions in the industry.

If necessary, the committee appoints working groups. The Safety Committee has worked on, among other things, developing a risk management model, safety culture within the industry, reducing injuries caused by rolling machines, and guidance for the safe removal and installation of work equipment. The committee has also been involved in developing training programmes, courses and standards that demonstrate best practices in the industry, as well as interpreting laws and other requirements.
