Ranheim Paper & Board has taken major steps towards increased efficiency and safety by implementing SSG Entre and SSG On site. With these tools, they have not only simplified their processes but also ensured that everyone at the site has the right training and information.
– It's about efficiency and not having to organize and lead all the trainings, all we have to do is refer everyone to go SSG Entre. If they need help, SSG Support is there to assist. This makes it easier for us because we don't have to follow up that they have the right skills – they do that themselves. Another advantage is that we get control over who is in and that they have the right training, because they are denied access if they do not have it. SSG Entre has contributed to our increased security and many external parties appreciate that we use it, says Andreas Volden, Project Engineer at Ranheim Paper & Board.

The desire to make the site even more sustainable, safe and efficient runs through both Andreas and his colleagues at the site. Right now, Ranheim is undergoing major maintenance work, including upgrading two of its paper machines, which has led to many external contractors working at the site.
– Many of our contractors have previously used SSG Entre and SSG On site. Thanks to SSG On site, we can ensure that contractors and visitors are provided with important information and can easily access the latest news without having to book meetings. It simplifies everyday life for us, our contractors and especially for those who come here for the first time. SSG On site is a well-proven system and it has been easy to get started.
Every year Ranheim Paper & Board transforms 130,000 tons of old, used corrugated boxes into new, high-quality paper and board products. This volume corresponds to about 50% of the corrugated board collected in Norway each year.
In 2024, there are lots of changes happening at the site. The upgrade to PM5 will remove some bottlenecks in the paper mill and in the next few years it will be followed by upgrades to their second paper machine PM6. This in turn will allow Ranheim to increase their production of specialty grades such as Recycled Saturating Kraft Paper for decorative high pressure laminates. The increased capacity will be 10,000 tons of paper by 2025 and a further 20,000 tons in the following two years.
